Event: #IngressFS Toronto

Event Date: December 6, 2014
Event Title: #IngressFS: Toronto
Job Title: Event Coordinator/Faction Leader

About the Event: Part social, part competitive, Ingress: First Saturday is an Agent-organized meetup that happens on the first Saturday of the month.

Project Objective: To create a consistent branding throughout all printed and virtual materials for the event, ensure helpful and valuable information regarding the contest/meet-up is communicated effectively throughout all medium. Also, to ensure agents have a great time at the event!

Project Components:
All graphical elements are produced by me unless specified otherwise.
  • Google+ Web Banner; Green and Blue are the respective faction colours, with a twist of Toronto landscape and merging of both faction logos to communicate that it is a cross-faction (both factions) event.
  • Name Badges
  • Event Summary Cards; Since agents participated in an external environment, a helpful summary card was created for their reference in regards to the event schedule, notes and important links.
  • Event Information/Details Summary; This event was open to locals but also visitors that spanned The Golden Horseshoe area and international visitors. I felt that it was important to have a summary and helpful pictures of where the event and after-party would take place.
  • Registration Sheet (Google Forms) & Results Spreadsheet; Based on last month's #IngressFS events, I've narrowed down the bottlenecks of the event. Previous events required a lot manual labour to input data and cross-reference information. Created on Google Form, I streamlined the registration and contest results process by using filters and formulas to find key words to easily isolate and calculate final results.
  • Event Prizes; I coordinated the official Niantic products that was shipped from Google and grouped up the event prizes for distribution with the help of 4 other event assistants/coordinators.

Overall Feedback:
The event placed 3rd among all the participating cities (internationally!) and was well received with the agents that ventured out to participate in Toronto. We were the only Canadian city to ranked within the top 3! My event coordination and organization skills were recognized by agents of both factions and international agents!
