80 Days: Journal
In a nutshell, I guess this would describe me: "A Chinese-Canadian with a tiny case of keeping everything organized. Loves 4-legged house pets. Casual video/board/card gamer."
Let me fill you with a sense of wanderlust through Asia and Oceania.
In Sept 2015, I left YYZ (Toronto) to go travelling on an 80-day trip with my boyfriend. Our itinerary consisted of Hong Kong, Tokyo, Siem Reap, Australia and New Zealand. We've stepped out of the boundary that is the Canadian border. The concept of stepping out of the box and seeing things through my eyes and creating my own adventure with my feet started to excite me. I could not have asked for a better travel mate!
Throughout this trip, we've met so many people, different experiences, fauna, culture, and everything else. My perspective of life and people have changed since this trip. We tried new things like bungee jumping! It was amazing, but I'm definitely glad to be home.
I documented the days through September 2015 to December 2015. I traveled through the following places at specific times based on my flights to and from:
- Hong Kong (HKG): Sep 16 - Sep 29 (14 days)
- Tokyo, Japan (HND & NRT): Sep 30 - Oct 14 (15 days)
- Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia (REP): Oct 15 - Oct 20 (6 days)
- Australia (AUS): Oct 21 - Nov 5 (15 days)
- Perth, Australia (PER): Oct 21 - Oct 25 (5 days)
- Sydney, Australia (SYD): Oct 26 - Oct 30 (5 days)
- Bowen via Proserpine, Australia (PPP): Nov 1 - Nov 4 (4 days)
- Layover: Brisbane, Australia (BNE): Nov 5
- New Zealand (NZ): Nov 6 - Nov 29 (24 days)
- Vancouver, Canada (YVR): Nov 29 - Dec 5 (6 days)
- Toronto, Ontario, Canada (YYZ): Dec 5
Now that I take a look at my itinerary, I never realized how many flights and trips that I will be taking. No wonder I maxed out on the amount of Google Flight's multi-flight trips that I can add.

Also, during this trip, I started my Instagram again and used this platform to start a hashtag (#carolkeritrip) to maintain an easy way to look into the photos that all users could contribute. It helped our friends and family take a look through our eyes and where we were going.
The trip was superb and it ended up being 80 days!
What a coincidence, around the world in 80 days!
