62: Wellington, Ingress style.
Every time we visit a new place, we always try and reserve a day for Ingress. Apart from the in-game objectives and achievements, we get a nice tour from a local player's perspective.
We started our day off with a 6-part mission through the National War Memorial Park and to the Wellington i-Site. We've been seeing a few Weta displays yesterday, so it was cool to find Azog the Defiler at the Wellington Visitor Centre!
It was quite cool walking through lunch time and outdoor restaurant areas where we spotted bean bag chairs! It was such a nice idea on such a good day!
Today, we also did a nice loop from The Beehive (Parliament area), CBD (Central Business District) and Botanical Gardens. Here's a nice summary of our day generated by Google Maps!
We rode the Cable Car up to the Botanical Garden area. We got a spectacular view of Wellington at the top!
It was also cool to discover the peace flame that we saw back on our trip to Ueno Park for Ingress. The Wellington Botanical Garden had the same flame as well.
We followed the walking routes back down to the parliament area and then headed back for dinner. Just staying in tonight with store bought chicken, coleslaw and etc to save a few bucks!
