46.0: Tips & Tricks of Sydney! To Proserpine!

So Keri and I left this morning to the airport! Bye, Allawah! Our flight was at 9:10am so we had to be there for 7:10am as per our airline, TigerAir. We got to the airport easily in half an hour with the use of our Opal Cards and $13 access fee to the airport station.

When we got to the domestic airport, there was a long line up at the check in and there were technical delays. At least, we got through with time to spare. It just kind of sucked that there were several flights within the span of 15 minutes running on the same airline.

However, I'm glad that TigerAir allows for double door entry for loading airplanes faster.
Tip for the airport? We also realized that the vending machine beverage prices were cheaper than the convenience stores! Limited products, but still good if you don't mind having Powerade or other Coca-Cola products.

So how about some quirks and tips about Sydney?

Magpies everywhere and aren't afraid to swoop low at people's heads. Since the cruise ship docks along the Circular Quay, there's tons of tourists that float about. Sydney's Taronga Zoo is possibly a good day trip for those wanting a good sight of Opera House and Harbour Bridge all included in the quick ferry ride to the zoo. Make sure you pre-purchase your ticket so you can go straight on the cable car, included in your fare. I would recommend seeing the sights (Opera House & Harbour Bridge) from the north side near Milsons Point's Lavender Bay or Jeffrey Street Wharf as there were few tourists around blocking your shots and only locals!

Sydney's airport stations charges you a fee of $13.00 on top of your maximum day cap (for more information, read up on it here). So it's cheaper to get into the city via the bus. Sydney also has a night bus system similar to Toronto. They have a more updated transit card system (called Opal, ours is Presto) which is so much more effective than ours. Like most card systems, you can go negative balance with your card. Like Japan, they have bathrooms in most of their stations. Their trains are like the GO trains but cooler because their platforms are higher and some models of the train cars allow chairs to rotate directions.

Sydney, you've been awesome!
Onto Proserpine, Queensland!
