37: Perth & Cuballing
Posts may be delayed or no pictures due to reception issues in Cuballing, Australia.
So we had an early day ahead today.
We got to Esplanade Station, where it was a bus port for all the buses including the free CAT buses. As we walked to the bus port, I noticed people stand on the left here, walks up the right side. So, it is same as Tokyo!
We took the Green CAT bus to the Kings Park area and walked around Kings Park. It was quite nice seeing the park. There were several really good areas to view Perth and the surrounding areas. We also walked to the DNA Tower!
We walked back to the bus station and transfered between free CAT buses, green to blue. We went to the Bell Tower and learned about the bells of Perth. We had food at the food court again and then headed back home.
Keri's uncle was picking us up to stay with him to visit and see the real outback of Cuballing, Australia. He joked and said he had a bottle of rum and Coke ready for us. Beer o'clock?
He drove us to his place which was about 2 hours away in the "outback", which felt more like Alberta. We haven't seen a kangaroo yet, but saw a number of parrots though. He welcomed us into his place, and he wasn't kidding about rum and Coke.
We chilled a little bit, caught up with what he does and learned a bit about Australia and New Zealand. He then drove us to meet his friends nearby, which he had a package for (since he drove into the city).
His friends were really chill and friendly! They had free roaming chickens and three cats. So cute! When we got there, one of the chickens went underneath the car! It was silly.
We all chatted a bit and had some sausage sizzle (basically sausages on the pan). Apparently, one of his friends, Robyn, kept asking if I needed water or tea (Keri told me afterwards). I guess she wasn't used to Asian glow. We chatted some more about the local area and then said goodbye to them. I crashed around 11pm cause of my 4 cups of rum and Coke.
But all I know is, Cuballing has low reception. Keri's uncle's place has no reception at all, unless you go into the pub areas or town.
We're managing! I just want to see a kangaroo!
