36: Cottesloe Beach & Fremantle
Keri and I walked around the neighborhood that we were staying in called Canning Vale. We walked nearby to Livingston Marketplace and bought some food for lunch on the beach! We also ate at the nearby Hungry Jack's, which is basically a Burger King. Similar logo and under the same founder but exclusive to Australia due to copyright. I ate a hash brown hamburger. It was alright haha.
We took the train to Cottesloe Beach, a well-known beach. We had lunch on the grassy terrane of the beach area. And ate a Kit Kat bar, which may have been labeled different ways to have a break like "sneaky break" or "back in 5".
It might have been the last day of school because we saw two waves of students (around 40+ teenagers) run straight into the beach waters with their uniforms on. It was a spectacular sight. Probably tradition for the schools around this beach?
We walked along the beach, and explored via the Ingress way. We saw a sundial and found the sign for 32 degree south latitude which was pretty cool. We walked to Brant Street Station and rode the train to Fremantle Station.
Fremantle looked nice. The University of Notre Dame maintained the nice old look of the buildings. We took the free Blue CAT bus around town. Have we mentioned how strange but awesome it is to ride free transit?
We ended up walking to the Fremantle Old Port Beach area. We had to get some seafood while we're here! So we went to Sweetlips Restaurant for Fish and Chips nearby. We finished eating and made it just in time for the sunset. Seems like a few locals like to grab take out to eat by the beach and watch the sunset too.
We walked back to the Fremantle Station and took transit home. Early day ahead!
