34: Packing, Layovering at Changi
We didn't plan much of our airport/layover day. In the morning, Keri and I just did a quick walk around Siem Reap and did a few Ingress stuff. Then, we went home to pack up our stuff.
Our Tuk Tuk driver picked us up at 12pm, on the dot as usual! We said good bye to our hosts and headed to the Siem Reap International Airport.
You can tell that their airport is still getting there.. There's still construction for exhibits and parts of the airport to be refined. Its tiny, but its pretty cool. Unfortunately, their check-in area doesn't have many chairs for travelers to sit at. We had some food in the airport and then we flew out via Jetstar to our layover, Singapore!
I heard about how awesome Changi Airport (Singapore's) was. And when we touched down, I was startled by their security. We had an arrival scan from the flight!
Afterwards, Keri and I checked out the airport directory. We had 7 hours for our layover and little did I know, we'd be blown away.
We wandered around the airport, checking out their free attractions and roaming on their free WiFi. They had several 24 hour stuff to do like viewing a butterfly garden, koi fish pond, entertainment zone, tons of shopping and more! Too bad we didn't arrive a little bit earlier. The airport does free tours of Singapore! Definitely nothing like North American airports.
We had food and caught a free viewing at the airport movie theater. Yes, I'm not kidding. They had a movie theater for passengers. Keri and I caught a movie viewing of Boxtroll at 10:25 and just got out for midnight! Now, we're just chilling at a free foot massage chair for the full airport experience. Seriously, this airport blows my mind.
Boarding time for Perth in less than 2 hours... Australia, we're coming for you!
