31: Temples Day 1: Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm

At 8am Tuk Tuk driver had brought a nice cold box of drinkable water bottles. We're so thankful that our Airbnb host has Tuk Tuk friends. I don't think drivers that you catch on the street would go to that extent for your tour to the temples.

At 9am, we managed to beat 3-4 tour buses unloading at the ticket gate so that was fortunate. Our driver recommended Angkor Thom for the morning because it was cooler to do during the morning. In the midday, it would be ridiculously hotter. Its like 29 degrees Celsius now.

The temples were so magnificent. The faces and architecture was breathtaking. So glad we did this first. There weren't as much tourists in Angkor Thom as I saw going into Angkor Wat.

Tip for doing temples: get tons of water, bring a fan, bring a towel and just stay in the shades as best as you can. You will be going up and down stairs so it will be tough a bit, especially if you can't do heights.

By 11:45am, we lunch at Ta Prohm Khmer food. Our driver drove us to eat some Khmer food nearby. The price was decent and not overpriced as certain restaurants do inside the temple areas.

At 12:25pm, we headed to Ta Prohm Temple, which is known for Tomb Raider movies. Met two travelers, Tim (Australian) and Marie (French). We had a good run through the temple and seeing the insane tree growth.
We headed to a few other small temples and then headed home just before the rain came down.

We chilled at home till around 6pm. And then we headed out for a local restaurant called Kuriosity Kafé. Its interesting because they have recycled scrap sculptures from Alien vs Predator. Early night for us as we're going to catch the sunrise in the morning!
