25: Ginza, Tokyo Tower
It's raining today (only in the morning) in Tokyo! I noticed clear umbrellas are pretty popular and easily obtainable via 100 yen stores. I'm definitely a fan!
So today, we headed off to Ginza Station for the biggest UNIQLO store with 12 floors of stuff. If you can't tell, I'm definitely a fan of their stuff. Its possibly our fourth or fifth trip to another store already (including Hong Kong). When I left Canada, I heard they were opening one up in the GTA. I hope they bring back the same quality stuff to Canada!
We also walked along the Sukiyabashi crossing (its not Shibuya crossing) but still recommended as Ginza dori becomes pedestrian only on weekends which is pretty cool. Afterwards, we stopped by Jiro's Sushi but they weren't open.. So we got a picture of their sign instead.
And then we headed to Ginza Station to go to a conveyor belt sushi place for a late lunch. Conveyor belt sushi is definitely a place to have food if you're running on a budget.
We headed to a Toho Cinema to see The Intern (known as My Intern here), in English with Japanese subtitles. But the location we went to was all sold out. Apparently it was a small cinema anyways.
So to Tokyo Tower we go! There's two sections to Tokyo Tower, the main observation and the special observation deck. They require you to buy the two tickets separately: main deck (900 yen) at the ground floor and special deck (700 yen) at the main observation deck.
The wait for the special observation deck is generally a longer wait as they only have one ticket counter. My recommendation is to skip the main deck because on the way down from the special observatory deck, you can still go to the main deck. Don't forget to check out the clear viewing platform on the 1st floor of the main deck!
Also, the night time view is definitely cooler as the Tokyo Tower is lit up during the night. They dim down the inside viewing rooms so that people can get good views of the city.
We had ramen at the food court and now we're heading home. Such a good day!
