17: Kimitsu, Ingress
Our morning began quite early, with a wake up call at 6:00am! Our commute was going to be 2.5 hours, so we had to make sure we left early enough. We left the doors at 6:30am and headed for Shinjuku Station to ride the JR Line to Kimitsu Station!
The JR Line felt like the airplanes but with trains and reserved seating. You can also eat and drink on these trains versus not allowed on the regular local transit. Also, talking on the transit is kind of frown upon.
We saw a few Resistance (the team that we're playing on) Ingress Players on the the train! Japan people seemed cool, one of them told us, 'Gambatte" to encourage and keep at it!
By 9:15am, we got off the train. We walked to the park and met an English-speaking volunteer from Chiba! There was an Ingress ceremony and also given free tea as it was sponsored by Ito En. Our volunteer also volunteered to guide us around Kimitsu City as we are not familiar with the language.
We spent several hours roaming around the beautiful land of Kimitsu. And doing Ingress stuff; there were easily around 100+ agents attending the event!
We parted with our volunteer and headed to a nearby 100 yen sushi place, Hamazushi. They had a conveyor belt... Oh yay! We ate a bunch of sushi.
Afterwards, we headed back to the train station, which we missed the express train. We're now riding the local train to Tokyo, 3 hours total versus our morning commute of 2.5.
I'm pretty sure we're going to pass out when we get home. Itinerary for tomorrow? Maybe visit local stuff in Machida tomorrow.
