2: Christina & Causeway Bay

To be honest, I am thankful that I can understand some amount of Chinese. Being able to listen and understand Cantonese definitely has benefits. And being able to read Chinese helps in navigating Hong Kong.

Yesterday Keri and I met up with Christina, my high school friend in Causeway Bay yesterday! At the apartments that we are currently staying at, we have a bus terminal a few steps from us. It is extremely convenient cause there are buses that pass by my grandmother's place, Aberdeen and Causeway Bay.

We took the 72A to the Sogo department store and roamed around an hour earlier near Times Square. There is always a lot to see in Causeway Bay like shopping and eating. :)

We found Christina and ate at the local fast food chain, Maxim's. They serve Hong Kong styled diner food, not like McDonalds but like Pork on rice or noodle soup. It was really busy as we met during the peak of lunch time, but we found seats. It definitely helps to split up to find seats. Or it would have been awkward holding your trays and waiting.

We walked around to Forever 21, but of course... Gotta stop by UNIQLO and MUJI. I love going to UNIQLO. They sell clothes and their flagship store in Hong Kong sells specialty promo stuff, like collaboration with Disney or Sesame Street stuff. Got several things from the stores and then we had to stop by IKEA.

Oh no, not to get furniture. It was for the ice cream.. They serve matcha green tea sundaes. And it was gooood. Not the crappy frozen yoghurts from home. It was a nice way to end off the day with Christina!

Keri and I ventured back to Aberdeen, had showers (we had like two each day.. Still getting used to the humidity and temperature) and got ready for family dinner. Everyone at the family dinner was chill with Keri. I mean they tried to talk to him in broken English and it was hilarious. I really tried translate as fast as I could but sometimes you really can not. But at least my uncle Alex, who we are staying with spoke with Keri in English as best as he could. Overall, dinner was successful; definitely preferred family dinner here as everyone is more friendly and chill.

Afterwards, went back home and fell asleep around 11. Still fixing my jet lag .. I woke up around 4am. More things to do tomorrow like helping my aunt drop off kids and getting a haircut.

Oh boy. Till next time! 🙋
