1: Aberdeen & Repulse Bay
Day 1, Keri and I arrived safely at Hong Kong International Airport! Also, we flew by declarations and customs so quickly; we only spent 30 minutes total including picking up luggage. We were out of the airport before my aunt and uncle came to wait for us. :)
Luckily, my uncle did not have work, so he drove us back from the airport! Not much of a culture shock for me cause I have been to Hong Kong for a few times now. It is Keri's first time! This time, we are staying in Broadview Court, Sham Wan with my Aunt May, Uncle Alex and their daughter and son.
First impressions from Hong Kong vs Toronto... Hotter and more humid. We tanked the first day through Aberdeen in the hot weather. We had dim sum with my aunts at 9am-ish. Apparently they think I eat a lot, I just do not like seeing wasted food. Afterwards, we closed my HSBC bank account so that I had some funds to use.
Around 10am, we walked along the Aberdeen Promenade to view the relatively new historical signs that explained Aberdeen and surrounding areas. My grandmother lives in Aberdeen, so we stopped by their apartment to rest from the heat and humidity combo. And then we went to Repulse Bay!
We saw the Tin Hau Statue and went through The Pulse shopping area. We also stumbled upon the 3D museum that we found online! Awesome stuff! They had the gallery designed so that there was an optimal spot to take photos. Definitely a nice experience because it was not too busy when we got there, so the employees helped us take a few!
The whole Repulse Bay was clearly a tourist trap though. We saw so many tourists and tour buses by 2pm and luckily we finished everything before the crowds arrived.
We took the light bus back to Aberdeen, had a quick lunch and then went back to Broadview Court. We had fun playing some board games with my little cousin till dinner and then immediately crashed after dinner. Boy we were tired!
Time for day 2: Meeting up with Christina, Causeway Bay and Family Dinner!
