77: MOA & Granville Island
We went to the UBC Museum of Anthropology! It was quite cool seeing all the displays. We saw large art, totems and more of the Squamish and Lil'wat stuff as well.
We saw the Bill Reid art that was on the Canadian $20 bill, "The Raven and the First Men". It was magnificent up close!
There was a really cool temporary display featuring, Chiu Yu-Wen's Water Fairies Reproduction Project. Kind of felt spooky and chilly.
We also went to the Nitobe Memorial Garden. It made us felt like we were back in Japan.
We had lunch at Naam. We ate a gluten free, meatless, miso gravy poutine. The cheese substitute was daiya, a dairy-free mozzarella style cheese with tapioca flour. It was surprisingly delicious. I'd eat it again, especially the miso gravy. Yum! I had a noodle bowl soup. I had been craving tons of soup lately. Weird.
After lunch, we went to Granville Island to see cool markets and stores. We stopped by Broom Co., which does broomsticks. It was very eye opening.
We also went to the instrument store, Gandharva Loka World Music. It was cool seeing different instruments. So many cool designs and various instruments that I have not seen before.
We checked out the waterfront and the bridge. It was a very pretty night.
We headed home and had squash spaghetti and tomato beef pasta sauce. Definitely adding it to our list of food to try again!
We rewatched Life of Walter Mitty with all the roommates in the house. It was definitely a movie to crave for traveling to Iceland and Greenland.
