74 & 75: Touch Down & Vancouver

It has been an intense 48 hours.

Keri and I browsed around Queenstown Airport and took our flight to Auckland. We made our transfer to the flight in Auckland and rode on the bigger Air New Zealand plane. It was a sweet ride!

Keri and I traveled back in time. Here's a screenshot of our flight itinerary to prove it! Same day arrival but saved 8 hours! Haha!

We touched down in Vancouver and realized we told Keri's aunt the wrong time and day! When we had sent her the message, we were sending her Sydney local time, which was ahead a day. Whoops! So we were early by 12 hours or so.

We landed at around 12-1pm at the Vancouver airport and were confused on what to do. Luckily my Rogers SIM card still works, so we ended up texting her to get a response. She wasn't expecting us, so we took it from a.. Not a hurry perspective.

Turns out, she was marching in the Global Climate March! So, we didn't let her know what was going on with us.. For several hours. When she had free time after, she texted me and finally connected with Keri about our situation.

To be honest, we weren't bored. The Vancouver Airport has lots to see! There were several attractions like totem poles, an aquarium and an observation deck! I think airports should have more observation decks, it would make it cool.

We got picked up by Keri's aunt and headed to her place. Our timing was actually pretty good, because the next morning was really foggy and might have canceled our flight!

The area around us was called The Drive, which had a lot of cool cafés and food. We ate at Sweet Cherubim, which does gluten free, non-gmo, ethically harvested and organic food. It was good Indian food!

The next day, Keri and I basically wandered The Drive and surrounding areas like to the nearest Tim Horton's and Value Village. Tim Horton's was maybe necessary, start the day with Ice Capp and soup? We walked to Value Village as we didn't bring much winter gear. I totally snagged some nice Vancouver 2010 red mittens!

We went to Five Elements for some banh mi sandwiches for lunch and sat around chilling.
We watched Disney Short Films on Netflix at home while we waited for Keri's Aunt.

When she got home, we walked out to Eternal Abundance for some Vegan food. I had zuggetti with marinara sauce, which they had zucchini to replace pasta. It was quite delicious!

So glad to be back on Canadian soil. Tim Horton's!
