4 & 5: Aberdeen, Ap Lei Chau, Cheap Shopping

Two day post:
Day four consists of going to the Aberdeen Country Park, barbecue, and Aberdeen walk. So my relatives all got together to do a barbecue at Aberdeen Country Park, and boy were there a lot of people! Christina had some free time, so I invited her over to experience it. We were fortunate enough that the weather was nice today. But typical bugs, they really love to bite me. I have a total of like 10 bites now, and I can not stop itching them... Ugh. The will power! We ate a lot of miscellaneous things like sausage, chicken, pork chops... and a lot more! We ate over a communal flame and had skewers for each individual person unlike having a barbecue grill in Canada.

We also walked up to the Aberdeen Upper Reservoir with my little cousins (around 7 of them). It was a decent hike, probably spent like 20-30 minutes up from the Barbecue Lot 1 where we were at. It was a nice hike, slight slope but tons of nature to look at. We saw a wild dog, a really big spider (as big as my hand almost) and tons of exercise pit stops. It seems like in Hong Kong, they like to promote healthy living. I can totally dig that. :)

Afterwards, I brought Keri and Christina along Aberdeen to see places (Aberdeen is small enough to do a quick tour) and the promenade. We also took the Sampan boats across to Ap Lei Chau to view the Cooked Market there. The Cooked Markets in Hong Kong usually consists of tons of stalls with uncooked food and tons of seafood! However, if this was in Canada, there would be tons of health violations instantly.

We had dessert in Ap Lei Chau at Sweet Castle. It is so good there and a nice little gem on the island. We rode the boat back to Aberdeen to experience the conveyor belt sushi, at Genki Sushi. While eating, watching the sushi being carried by conveyor belts was kind of mesmerizing. Everything was automated and was so streamlined for the amount of service coming in and out. I will not be doing a review of it as Keri and I will be going to Japan so even more legit stuff.

We said good bye to Christina and went home, boy was that lot of walking.

Day five, wet and rainy day! There is a yellow rain warning, which means exceeding 30mm of rain. Today, I also learned that there is also red (exceeding 50mm) and black warning (exceeding 70mm)!

Keri and I went to the Hong Kong Central Library in Causeway Bay. They coincidentally had an exhibit on Confucius which we walked through and learned about. There were several displays on Stone Rubbing calligraphy and tons of replicas of books and vases. Also the exhibit was free, which is still on till October

Afterwards, we walked to Wan Chai to the $10 store (yay Daiso stuff)! I love going to the cheap stores, tons of good find. And I finally got a compact comb! We then went to a nearby electronics plaza. I felt like we were in Pacific Mall (in Ontario, Canada) but without windows. Tons of stores and electronics! Too bad I wasn't really looking for anything, I guess you would have to haggle anyways.
We walked back to the UNIQLO and got more limited edition shirts (only for the flagship store). So much cute stuff! We are getting my aunt to send our stuff back to us in Canada as we continue our journey to Japan and onwards!

We have like 7 days left before we leave.. time sure flew by!
