(Volunteering) EGLX: Registration Assistant

Event: EGLX - Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo

I volunteered this weekend at EGLX. It's my second time attending as a volunteer and I love doing registration. This event is pretty cool and it's nice to see that it's bigger than before!

They had several tournaments going on like Hearthstone, Dota 2, CoD (Call of Duty), Halo 5, LoL (League of Legends), Super Smash Bros (Melee & Wii U), CS GO and Street Fighter 5. There was a huge turnout for watching the events and I'm thoroughly impressed by the setup this year!

Also, the big named players have been called upon to Canada! Some of the big names for Smash Bros like Mango, Axe, HungryBox, Armada and Mew2King were competing as well. I was sitting in front of the eSports competitor area, but you can tell in the photo, we had a huge crowd.


There were also other things happening as well like the awesome looking Hearthstone Tavern! It looked so nice and professional with the casters doing their thing as well.

There was also other sections on the floor for vendors, games and a nice free to play retro arcade section! So nice seeing Donkey Kong back in the arcade style! Apart from games, there were also cosplayers like Kitsurie and Dex Morgan. So nice to see them do their cosplays and talk to fans!

Overall, I would say the event is a success. I would like to see more things on the floor in terms of vendors and indie games next year, but other than that - they covered pretty much most of the big names/games!

Let's hope it comes back next year!
