7: Macau (Late Post)

Macau, the city of gambling and shopping!

Posting a one of the days that were forgotten from Hong Kong, just missing Victoria Peak..

We left Broadview Court pretty early for Macau. We took the bus up to Central as that's where the ferry was. There were so many people heading in the same direction. Most of them seemed to be tour groups. People are very rude and like to push and be impatient.

We caught the ship departure at 9am. Going to Macau also requires signing a departure form from Hong Kong. Its basically like going through the airport departure and arrivals but via boat terminal.

The boat itself was only 45min to an hour. Our boat had a capacity of 200+ people so it was a decent size. The boat was small and at some parts, when we were going slowly, it rocked. So not a ride for the sea sick folks.

We went to the Taipa Terminal (the newer area of Macau's casinos) and rode the complimentary shuttle buses. You should be able to get between most casinos, and to the local Macau via the hotel buses for free.

We took the buses to the Galaxy Hotel, which we saw the Crystal Entrance and had a buffet lunch. We also went to the Venetian Hotel, which had tons of shops and of course, a gondola boat on man made river. Then, we decided to take a shuttle bus into the local area and walked around.

We headed to the Ruins of St. Paul, which was really hot as the weather called for 30+ degrees Celsius and humidity on top of that. It was quite cool seeing the ruins. We also went to the Museum nearby and saw the cannon garden as well. It was quite nice!

We then took local transit to the Museo Marítimo (Museum) and saw the exterior of the A-Má Temple. Then, we took the transit back to the Macau Ship Terminal (different from the morning). We had food at Yoshinoya and then headed home for sleep.
