Event: Persepolis Anomaly - Toronto

Event Date: May 30th, 2015
Event Title: Ingress Persepolis – Toronto, Canada
Job Title: Project Manager/Point of Contact

About the Event: The event was an anomaly (Official Game Event) competition that both opposing factions can participate.

“Anomaly events are concentrated surges of XM that attract thousands of Agents to key Anomaly Sites around the globe. These events typically include five hours of intense Portal activity, with both Factions battling for control of key Portals and Cells. The outcome of each Anomaly Series can change the course of the Ingress timeline and backstory.” (Ingress Field Guide Kit, 2015)

Role Description: As the Point of Contact, I was the key person maintaining all communications between the Official Representatives of Niantic and the Resistance Team and also discussions with the opposing faction.

As the Project Manager for this event, I monitored the merchandise, logistics, hospitality and registration with the rest of the team. Along side my merchandise coordinators, I organized orders and liaised with vendors for promotional items (in terms of production schedule). I developed quotes, managed profit margins and assisted in packing “swag packs” to distribute to attendees. I monitored the registration list, coordinated all participants and also booked the after party event for 100+ people at the Firkin on Yonge.

Overall Feedback:
It was a tough 5 hours of intense participation, but my faction (Resistance) won our site! The event was greatly received and was featured on the Niantic's Official Ingress Report, which is watched by people around the world. I was recognized for my organized and detail-oriented skills by the team leaders and all participants. This was my follow up response to the Persepolis Anomaly - Toronto event.
